The garden of Schönbrunn with its visual perspectives, hedges and fountains was designed at the end of the 17^th century by Jean Trehet, a pupil of Le Nôtre, in the French Baroque style. The sculptural iconography as well as the imposing monuments dating from the late 18^th century intend to glorify the imperial power of the Habsburgs who saw themselves in the tradition of the Roman Emperors. This itinerary wants you to understand the significance of this unique garden ensemble and appreciate its beauty.
